Pattonville freshman praised for service work
Members of Pattonville High School's freshman class recently planted more than 600 trees in the wetland restoration area of Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park. For their efforts, the school's principal recently received a letter of thanks and appreciation from St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, along with passes to Aquaport in the city of Maryland Heights. Pattonville board selects new administrators
The Pattonville Board of Education on May 24 approved hiring three individuals to fill administrative positions in the coming school year. They will begin their new roles on July 1.

Ten individuals named Pride of Pattonville honorees
Ten outstanding volunteers and staff members have been honored with the Pride of Pattonville Award. The Pride of Pattonville Award was established 25 years ago to honor and recognize staff, parents and community volunteers for service to the entire district, above and beyond what might be expected. Winners from the two previous years select those to be honored from nominations submitted by staff, students and parents. (continued)
Pattonville staff, friends raise $3,000 in Relay for Life
A team of Pattonville School District staff recently raised more than $3,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society as part of the organization's Relay for Life event at St. Charles High School. For their efforts, the team earned a Bronze Award from the cancer society. (continued)
BJC Healthcare named Pattonville Partner of Year
BJC HealthCare School Outreach and Youth Development was recently named the Pattonville School District School-Business Partner of the Year for it support and services to Pattonville children. (continued)
Director named to support instruction
Jennifer Schneider was appointed by the Pattonville Board of Education on April 12 as the new director for instructional support services. Some of Schneider's new responsibilities include administration of federal grants, professional development, A+ Schools, vocational education, district assessment, summer school and other duties as assigned. Pattonville earns 8 th "What Parents Want" Award
For the eighth year in a row, the Pattonville School District has been honored with a "What Parents Want" Award from SchoolMatch. Only 16 percent of the nation's 15,573 public school districts have been recognized this year for meeting the needs of families choosing schools. (continued)

Kristin Powell, a paraprofessional at Drummond Elementary School, was recently named the Pattonville Support Staff Employee of the Year.

Tipton named Pattonville Teacher of the Year
Dixie Tipton, a kindergarten teacher at Rose Acres Elementary School, was recently named the Pattonville Teacher of the Year. She earned the honor after also being named Pattonville's Elementary Teacher of the Year and will go on to represent Pattonville in the Missouri Teacher of the Year program.

Pattonville schools raise more than $7,600 for tsunami victims
Students and staff in several Pattonville schools raised more than $7,600 to support victims of the recent tsunami tragedy in Southeast Asia. Their joint efforts combined to provide funds for international relief agencies such as the International Red Cross and UNICEF. (continued)
PSD teacher named Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year
Linda Wynn, a kindergarten teacher at Drummond Elementary has been named Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year for this area. She was nominated by one of her students for the award. (continued)
Willow Brook raises $4,000 for diabetes research
Students, parents and staff at Willow Brook Elementary School in the Pattonville School District recently raised more than $4,000 for diabetes research. The school held a walk to raise the funds for the American Diabetes Association. (continued)
Newly elected board members take oath of office
Officers for the board also elected
The Pattonville Board of Education swore in three newly elected board members during its meeting on April 12. Incumbents Keith Gillming and Ron Kuschel, along with new board member Cindy Candler, took the oath of office during the meeting. All three were elected to the board during the April 5 election.(continued)

Students in the Pattonville School District will get out of classes three day early this year because the district did not need to use its emergency “snow” days.

The Pattonville Education Foundation has announced the winners of its 2004-2005 grants to Pattonville educators. Twenty grants worth more than $9,000 were awarded.
